Why PICOTE?
Picote specialise in pipe cleaning, descaling and the rehabilitation of pipes using a combination of Cured-in-Place linings (CIPP) and the Picote Brush CoatingTM System. To undertake this type of work Picote has developed a range of “High Speed” pipe cleaning machines and tooling to enable works to be completed quickly, with minimal disruption and without the need to use water, for pipes from diameters DN32 up to DN300.
The machines can be used for general cleaning works, clearing blockages, removing the build-up of Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG’s), concrete, root cutting and descaling in cast iron, steel, PVC and clay pipes using specially developed tools such as Chains, Special Drill Heads, Smart CutterTM, Smart Spider, Smart Crusher and Twister Concrete Remover. The same machines can also be used to re-open lined over lateral connections, using the range of Twisters and the ISTT award winning Smart CutterTM, where the pipe has been rehabilitated using a cured-in-place pipe.
The Picote High Speed cleaning machines rotate at speeds between 500 to 2900 RPM and the rotating shaft is housed inside a plastic outer casing which is held by the operator and the machines are fitted with a safety clutch (either mechanical or electrical). As the outer casing does not rotate the operator can fix a CCTV camera behind the cutting head and monitor the whole process.
Foremost, Picote Solutions is a contractor and as such have had to deal with the consequences of rectifying a failed lining. It is because of this that Picote Solutions developed the Power+ machine and associated tools to enable the removal of collapsed or partially collapsed CIPP lining from 100mm (4”) diameter up to and including 300mm (12”) diameter pipes and up to 45 metres in length.
